Author: katherine May
OVERVIEW: I can see myself reading this book again and again. Divided into sections based on months october through March, this collection of stories carries you through the beginning, middle, and end of winter. It’s a very relaxing read - one that makes you want to cozy up by the fire and sip a hot beverage. Katherine feels like a close friend, as she recounts experiences that have shaped, tested and healed her. You will grow comfortable with the idea that wintering applies to more than the weather outside your window. This book embraces the concept that wintering is a process we can each expect to experience throughout our lives, and that is not necessarily a bad thing.
My thoughts: I’d like to read this book again, section by section, based on the corresponding months. Katherine has a way of talking about difficult things in a calming manner that left me feeling serene and hopeful. This is definitely a book I plan to keep handy for the literal and figurative winters to come.
